The class of 1961 enter Provo High in September of 1959.  The class was a combination of students coming from three Jr. high schools… Farrer, Dixon, and Central.

As sophomores, we elected Roland Dimick, President – Su Morgan, Vice President and Jan Gosar as Secretary.  “Music Through The Ages” was the theme of our sophomore assembly and dance.

As Juniors, the class elected Mark Brienholt, President –  Judy Lloyd, Vice President and Maurine Trotter as Secretary.  The Junior Prom was held in April.  The theme was “Tre’arra” and we danced under the enchantment of a colonial ballroom.

Our senior class year was led by Farrell Tew, President –  Keith Archibold, Vice President and Eleanor Bentley as Secretary.  Farrell lost his life in a tragic accident at Utah Lake when he broke though the ice.   Keith and Eleanor carried on Senior class responsibilities through out the rest of the year.

For the 1960/1961 school year, the student body elected Mark Breinholt, President –  Rodney Jex, Vice President – Mary Kay Grow, Secretary, and Nan Colvin as Business Manger.  These officers did a find job leading the student body through the 1960/1961 school year.

Graduation in May brought the school’s activities to a close.  We marched to get our graduation certificates at the Brigham Young University Field House, which was directly across the street from Provo High.  There were 367 members of our class who graduated.

We are now celebrating our 50th Provo High School anniversary….  who would have believed time would fly by so quickly.
